Dr. JOSHUA SHIEH BDS MDS

His family background in dentistry extends back three generations since 1937. After having finished dentistry and a postgraduate specialty in Periodontics in India, Dr. Shieh immigrated with his wife, an orthodontist, to Canada and promptly became certified by the National Dental Examining Board in 2014.

 Dr. Shieh currently serves as a clinical instructor at the Oral Rehabilitation Centre, Grad Periodontics clinic at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto and The Institute of Dental Excellence in Toronto. In both these positions, he clinically teaches and mentors dental students and certified dentists in dental implant surgery and periodontics.

He volunteers as a committee member at the Ontario Dental Association. A fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), member to the American Academy of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), commits his efforts with special interests in hard and soft tissue regeneration related to implant dentistry. 

Dr. Shieh maintains his clinical practice of advanced dental procedures by associating in multiple dental practices in Mississauga and the GTA where his surgical skills are welcomed. He has contributed to many publications and recently has obtained his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He is fluent in English, Chinese, Tamil and limited Hindi. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Shieh enjoys time with his family, vocalizing at a local church and working with youngsters with special needs.
